Supporting Numerous Charities

Ritesh Moza is very generous with his donations, volunteer work, and support for varied nonprofits and charities. He feels that supporting the local organizations that protect the community is essential and regularly donates to the Houston Fire Department, Harris County Constables, Harris County Sheriffs, and the Houston Police Department.

He also has donated to and volunteered at Camp Hope, which provides interim housing for wounded warriors, veterans, and families suffering from combat PTSD, and Wounded Warriors, a nonprofit that offers a variety of programs, services, and events for wounded veterans who incurred a physical or mental injury or illnesses related to their military service on or after September 11, 2001.

Moza also supports people suffering from alcohol and drug addiction. He contributes funds to Alcoholics Anonymous and Refuge Recovery. Refuge Recovery uses a Buddhist approach as a path to healing addiction and the suffering caused by addiction. The main inspiration and guiding philosophy behind the Refuge Recovery program are the teachings of Siddhartha (Sid) Gautama (the Buddha), a man who lived in India 2,600 years ago and spent his life teaching people how to realize enlightenment.

Moza has donated to The Phoenix as well, which helps transform lives through hundreds of sober activities.

He contributes to Saint Jude Children’s Research Hospital, the MS150, a 150-mile cycle event that raises funds for multiple sclerosis, and various Christmas toy drives.

A Love for Sports, the Outdoors

Ray Moza has many varied interests. He enjoys playing table tennis, tennis, pickleball, and basketball — all competitive sports that help keep his mind sharp and body in shape. These sports also bring people together, which is an important aspect for Moza. None of these sports can be played independently, fostering a community that he can be a part of.

He also enjoys watching F3 (FIA Formula 3 racing).

Additionally, his sports activities include Muay Thai (Thai Boxing), a martial art and full-contact combat sport that uses stand-up striking, sweeps, and various clinching techniques. Muay Thai gives Moza a full-body, high-cardio workout and the skills for self-defense. It’s also a great stress reliever. He also practices Jiu-Jitsu, a self-defense martial art, which enables him to improve his mind and body.

Conversely, Ritesh Moza practices yoga for its stress relief, flexibility, body strength, spiritual benefits, concentration, and mindfulness. Yoga increases his capacity to concentrate and focus.

The outdoors also attracts Moza. He enjoys hiking, mountain climbing, cycling, scuba diving, fishing, and skiing. Whether he is climbing to places of incredible beauty, discovering the wonders of aquatic life, or challenging himself on the slopes, Moza loves the adventures these activities take him on. Not only does he experience the many facets and awesomeness of nature, but he also makes lifetime memories.

He takes time to travel and explore new destinations throughout the United States and abroad, learning from new cultures and experiencing the varied traditions and food of people around the world. Traveling broadens Moza’s horizons, a common theme that serves him well in business and personally.

Spirituality Is Important to Moza

Indian-American Moza is a devotee of the Iskon Temple, the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), also known as the Hare Krishna movement. ISKCON belongs to the “Gaudiya-Vaishnava sampradāya, a monotheistic tradition within the Vedic or Hindu culture. Philosophically, it is based on the Sanskrit texts Bhagavad-gītā and the Bhagavat Purana, or Srimad Bhagavatam – historical texts of the devotional bhakti yoga tradition, which teaches that the ultimate goal for all living beings is to reawaken their love for God, or Lord Krishna, the ‘all-attractive one.’”
